If you look at the specs on Larrivee guitars, just about everything the company does for sound quality is in this one. If you like more bling--and Larrivee provides very nice appointments--spend more. If you're like me and prefer a simple looking but great sounding guitar, this is the one. I rate this one with the best-sounding guitars I've heard, including Collings, Bourgeous and high-end Martins and Taylors. If you're reading this, you already know that Dave is great to work with. The D-03R is one of the best instruments available at any price. I'm glad they make it left-handed.

This plays as good or better than a high-end Gibson, Martin or Taylor. Like other reviewers have said, this guitar sounds as good as the higher end Larri's. And if you spend a little bit more time and money on upgrades like tuners, bridge pins, nut & saddle, there really isn't that much difference other than what woods are used. Tone and playability are perfect right out the gate. And on top of how great the guitar is, Dave is so great to deal with, he'll have the guitar in your hands before you know it.
